Texas Historic Civil Engineering Landmark
Preserving knowledge, acknowledging civil engineers and reminding the public of the role civil engineering plays in their lives are some of the objectives accomplished by recognizing projects that were completed in earlier times. Texas Outstanding Civil Engineering Achievement Award
The Texas OCEA Award may be given on an annual basis to a completed project that demonstrates the greatest contribution to civil engineering progress and to society which was designed and/or built in Texas. The following award recognizes the contribution of media coverage to the public's awareness of civil engineers and the profession's impact on our daily lives.
Texas Excellence in Journalism Award
The Texas Section-ASCE Excellence in Journalism Award honors journalists for outstanding coverage of civil engineers, civil engineering projects and civil engineering issues. The media have tremendous impact on public opinion. Journalism that enhances public understanding of the role of civil engineers and the impact their designs have on water supply, transportation, public works projects and the environment can engage the public in the infrastructure initiatives that impact their communities.
